Inaugurated in 1936 as Cine Ilusión, this building was for more than five decades the cultural heart of Zacatecas.Beneath its glowing marquee, entire generations gathered to share laughter, emotions, and dreams projected on the big screen.

In the 1990s, a fire marked the end of that golden era, yet it could not erase its essence.The spirit of Cine Ilusión—its emotion, its hope—remained alive within the walls that still preserve its memory.

In 2001, the building was restored and became Hotel Argento Zacatecas, preserving part of its original structure and honoring the legacy of the old cinema that gave it identity.

Today, Hotel Argento Zacatecas, located within the historic Edificio Ilusión, pays tribute to its origins and keeps alive the story of a place where the light of cinema transformed into hospitality.
